Good Leadership Shall be Awarded a Price

The benefit of book donation is really great, like a dynamic power which promotes the learning atmosphere. Books provide the students with greater reading and writing potentials. We feel that the positive leadership of the County Educational Department and the emphasis of reading from the school authorities are the key points to expand the benefit of these donated books.

Take the education in Guyuan County as an example, the County Educational Department has held training classes for the librarians from 8 high schools. Heavy covers were added on those books with higher rate of circulation.

In addition, take schools as an example, the Touying High School of Guyuan County held the "reading good books and enhance knowledge" competition owing to these donated books. Three hundred students attended the competition during the activity period. Qiying High School also held amazing teaching activities for the students including: distribution of the library cards, reading report presentation, composition competition, story presentation, and reading notes presentation.

The benefit brought to the schools from these donated books is evident. But, the development was imbalance. Some of the school libraries are outstanding, some are just average, which reflect the leadership of the County Educational Department and the school principals.

As for the Ningxia Province, the good result of Guyuan County can be further extended. I suggest, for those schools with a better promotion by the donated books, shall be donated with more books to encourage greater enthusiasm. At the same time, those County Educational Departments with good leadership shall be awarded a price.
