[Education Equipment and Facilities] provides special assistance to the schools in the most impoverished countries. Support given in 2005 included laboratory equipment (14 schools), classroom desks and chairs (39 schools), training VCDs for teachers (28 schools), and audiovisual equipment for teaching and training purposes (12 schools). In addition, one school in a mountainous area in Hebei Province was provided children's bedding for its boarding facilities.

[Musical Education in Rural Schools projects] were initiated in 2002 in recognition of the role that music plays in children's development. Small sets of musical instruments and teaching material to 147 rural schools in poor counties. A donation of US$300 supports the purchase of instruments and teaching material in one school. In addition, 14 schools under the Adopt a Most Impoverished County program have also received local traditional musical instruments. Feedbacks from benefiting schools indicate overwhelming appreciation from the children, who eagerly participate in the music lessons and activities during and after school.
